Bard SummerScape & Music Festival Announces 2026 Season

The Bard SummerScape and Music Festival has announced its 2026 season. Here is a look at the vocal selections.

Opera/SummerScape

Courtney Bryan and Gideon Lester’s “Suddenly Last Summer” will make its world premiere in a production by Daniel Fish. Nathan Koci conducts the work with a cast that includes Mikaela Bennett as Catharine Holly and Tina Benko as Mrs. Venable.

Performance Dates: June 25-July 19, 2026


Strauss’ “Die ägyptische Helena” will be performed in a new production by Christian Räth. The production is set to star Ambur Braid in her role debut as Helena, John Matthew Myers as Menelaus, and soprano Jana McIntyre as Aithra. They are joined by Blake Denson and Deborah Nansteel. The American Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Leon Botstein

 Performance Dates: July 24-August 2, 2026


Bard Music Festival 

The Music Festival will be dedicated to Mozart and His World.

Weekend One: The Perils of Genius

Performance Dates: August 7–9, 2026


 Weekend Two: The Universal Musician

Performance Dates: August 13–16, 2026
