Barbara Hannigan to Perform Two Concerts with JACK Quartet

Soprano Barbara Hannigan will sing two concerts with the famed JACK Quartet this coming November.

Hannigan, a frequent collaborator of the string quartet, will perform works by John Zorn in celebration of the composer’s 70th birthday.

The first concert will take in Paris at Cité de la Musique on Nov. 1, 2023. Three works by Zorn, “Jumalattaret,” “Pandora’s Box,” and “Star Catcher” are on the program.

On Nov. 16, Hannigan and the quartet return to New York for a performance at Miller Theatre at Columbia University. They will be joined by Michael Nicolas on cello, Jorge Roeder on bass, Stephen Gosling on piano, Sae Hashimoto on vibraphone, and Ches Smith on drums. The all-Zorn program includes, “Star catcher,” “Split the Lark,” “Liber Loagaeth,” “Ab Eo, Quod,” and “Pandora’s box.”
