Barbara Hannigan, Karim Sulayman & Leah Hawkins Lead Park Avenue Armory’s 2024 Fall Season

The Park Avenue Armory has announced its fall 2024 recital series.

The season opens with Beverly Sills Award-winning soprano Leah Hawkins with pianist Kevin Miller exploring her personal journey of self-acceptance and identity. They will perform works by Poulenc and Lili Boulanger as well as a collection of folk songs from various cultures.

Performance Dates: Sept. 13 & 15, 2024

Tenor Karim Sulayman and guitarist Sean Shibe bring their Broken Branches program to the Board of Officers Room. The program will include music by Purcell, Dowland, Caccini, Monteverdi, Britten, Tōru Takemitsu, Sayed Darwish, Fairuz, Layake Chaker, and traditional Sephardic and Arab Andalusian pieces.

Performance Dates: Oct. 8 and 10, 2024.

Soprano Barbara Hannigan returns to the Armory with pianist Bertrand Chamayou. Their one-night program features Messiaen’s “Chants de Terre et de Ciel,” John Zorn’s “Jumalattaret,” and Scriabin’s opuses 61 and 72.
