Soprano Barbara Hannigan is set for a tour alongside pianist Bertrand Chamayou across 10 cities in the United States and Canada.

The tour starts in Montréal on Nov. 26 before heading to Toronto (Nov. 28), Vancouver (Nov. 30), Victoia (Dec. 2), San Diego (Dec. 5), Rochester (Dec. 8), Philadelphia (Dec. 10), New York City (Dec. 12), Ottawa (Dec. 14) and ending in Washington DC on Dec. 16, 2024.

The program includes music by Zorn, Messiaen, and Scriabin.

“This unique recital takes us on a spiritual path, beginning with Messiaen’s youthful and ecstatic songs in praise of heaven and earth, through the deep mysticism of Scriabin, and culminating in the epic virtuosity of John Zorn’s ‘Jumalattaret,’ a work drawing its inspiration from Finnish goddesses of the Kalevala. For Bertrand and I, it is truly a ‘trip’ to perform this transcendent music together, and we love bringing our audiences with us on this journey,” Hannigan said in an official press release.

This represents the first time in seven years that Hannigan and Chamayou join forces.

Hannigan will also present masterclasses in Montréa, Victoria, Toronto, Rochester, and Philadelphia throughout the tour.
