The Baden-Baden Festival has announced that it will expand its European vision in 2026 as it will partner with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra for three years.

In a statement Festival director Benedikt Stampa said, “Music lovers can look forward to top-class opera and concert evenings in Baden-Baden. The orchestras are also leaders in cultural communication.

In 2026, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under the direction of Klaus Mäkelä and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Joana Mallwitz will perform. Both orchestras will play a central role in Baden-Baden’s artistic planning.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will make its Baden-Baden Easter Festival debut in 2026 while the Mahler Chamber Orchestra has already performed performances of “The Magic Flute” and “Fidelio” in Baden-Baden.

Over the past 11 years the Berlin Philharmonic has been the festival’s partner and will end its tenure in 2025.
