Bach Festival Announces 2023 Season

Winter Park, Florida’s Bach Festival has announced its 88th season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal showcases.

First up will be “Spiritual Spaces,” featuring John V. Sinclair and Members of the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Feb. 4, 2023

Next up is “Odes and a Hymn for St. Cecilia by Purcell, Händel, and Britten.” The showcase will feature John V. Sinclair conducting the Bach Festival Chamber Orchestra and Bach Vocal Artists.

Performance Dates: Feb. 5, 2023

The King’s Singers will make their debut at the festival.

Performance Dates: Feb. 10, 2023

John V. Sinclair will lead “Venus Ascending,” a concert featuring music by women composers such as Marianna Martines, Amy Beach, Lili Boulanger, and Valerie Coleman, among others. The performance will star Melissa Attebury, Tom Cooley, Brandon Hendrickson, and Clara Rottsolk.

Performance Dates: Feb. 11 and 12, 2023

John V. Sinclair will lead a performance of Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion” with such soloists as Mary Wilson, Meg Bragle, Robert Bracey, Michael Dean, Stephen Mumbert, and John Grau.

Performance Dates: Feb. 26, 2023
