Bach Choir of Bethlehem to Present Bel Canto Youth Chorus 30th Anniversary Spring Concert

By David Salazar

The Pennsylvania-based Bach Choir of Bethlehem will present The Bel Canto Youth Chorus’s 30th Anniversary Spring Concert on May 6, 2023.

The program will feature music by Bach, Mozart, and Fauré, as well as new works. Among those new works is “Remember,” a composition by Bel Canto chorister Julia Sobrinsky.

“Our Bel Canto Spring Program, Family Tree, marks 30 years of creating musical artistry with youth, and celebrates our musical and family trees. How have our roots, musical and familial, shaped who we are today and who we might become,” said Dr. Joy Hirokawa, Artistic Director and Conductor, in an official press statement. “Chorister Julia Sobrinski selected the perfect poem to capture this sentiment. We are so excited to premiere her original composition using this text!  It is incredibly rewarding to see the amazing musicians and humans our choristers have become.”

The showcase, which will take place at the Wesley United Methodist Church, will commence at 4 p.m.
