Conductor Ramón Tebar will be touring Galicia and directing a series of concerts that will culminate in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Valencia, Spain.

The concerts, which will be produced by the Columbus Foundation under the title “Dolor y Esperanza (Pain and Hope),” will be in favor of a very high-level cause, such as the healing of children with rare diseases.

Tebar will make his debut with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, with a baroque program, featuring Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” as a metaphor for “pain” and arias and duets by Bach, Händel, and Scarlatti as representatives of “hope.”

The production will feature soprano Auxiliadora Toledano and mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught as soloists.

With this tour, the Colón Foundation aims to raise funds to treat two children of Israel with childhood Parkinson’s, while also gaining access to treatment within the gene therapy program that treats AADC deficiency.

The concert will be recorded with plans for a audiovisual release in the future.

The first concerts will take place on Oct. 26 and 27, followed by the final show on the 30th of October.
