Audra McDonald, Hera Hyesang Park, Davóne Tines, Mireille Lebel Headline Caramoor 2023 Season

Caramoor has announced its 2023 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

Audra McDonald will open the festival with a Gala alongside the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and Andy Einhorn.

Performance Date: June 17, 2023

Boston Early Music Festival will present Francesca Caccini’s “La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina” with Paul O’Dette and Stephen Stubbs conducting and Gilbert Blin. The opera stars Mireille Lebel, Colin Balzer, and Virginia Warnken Kelsey.

Performance Date: June 25, 2023

The Crossing will present the New York premiere of Ted Hearne’s “FARMING,” a new oratorio for choir.

Performance Date: July 9, 2023

The Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra will showcase Händel’s “Acis and Galatea” as conducted by Richard Egarr. Aria Umezawa conducts a cast starring Nicholas Mulroy, Hera Hyesang Park, Isaiah Bell, and Dashon Burton.

Performance Date: July 12, 2023

Davóne Tines will present “Recital No.1” with pianist Adam Nielsen. The program features music by Caroline Shaw, J.S. Bach, Tyshawn Sorey, Margaret Bonds, and Julius Eastman.

Performance Date: July 13, 2023
