Audra McDonald, Anne Sofie von Otter, Fleur Barron, Denyce Graves, & Justin Austin Lead 92NY’s 2023-24 Tisch Music Season

The 92nd Street Y, New York (92NY) announced its 150th anniversary celebration and the 2023-24 Tisch Music season featuring a star-studded cast.

Audra McDonald and pianist and music director Andy Einhorn present “An Evening with Audra McDonald” for the 92NY 150th Anniversary event.

Performance Dates: October 12 & 13, 2023 

Mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter presents “Brooklyn Rider: Songs of Love and Death.”

Performance Date: November 10, 2023

Countertenor Reginald Mobley with harpsichordist and music director Richard Egarr give the American premiere of “Garden of Good & Evil” by Errollyn Wallen and Tarik O’Regan. The Philharmonia Baroque ensemble joins.

Performance Date: January 25, 2024

“COTTON” is a song cycle by Damien Geter that explores John E. Dowell’s photography and the African American narrative of past and present. Solosists are mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves and baritone Justin Austin.

Performance Date: April 18, 2024

British-Singaporean mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron returns to 92NY with “HOME(land).” The program is Barron’s personal reflection on the idea of home and homeland featuring juxtaposing works by Eastern and Western creators including Brahms, Chen Yi, Berg, Ives, Takemitsu, Mussorgsky, Huang Ruo, Alex Ho, and Charles Trenet.

Composer and vocalist Gabriel Kahane alongside Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto performs a new work commissioned by 92NY. The program features music by Bach and Kuusisto in solo violin works by Kahane.
