On Dec 7, the Auditorio de Tenerife is set to present Alberto Carretero’s “La bella Susona.”

The sold-out performance is the second time the work has been performed following its world premiere at the Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla in March.

“La bella Susona” is a contemporary score by Alberto Carretero, which features a libretto by Rafael Puerto. It tells the story of a young Jewish Seville woman who betrays her father by falling in love with a Christian man.

Carlos Wagner’s original production will be directed by  Raúl Vázquez while Nacho de Paz will conduct the piece.

The work will star many of the original cast members from its world premiere including soprano Daisy Press, baritone Luis Cansino, tenor José Luis Sola, countertenor Federico Florio, and mezzo-soprano Marina Pardo. The cast will also include newcomer bass Javier Castañeda.
