Beginning Sept. 25, subscribers of the Film Studio will receive access to watch the film versions of “Madama Butterfly,” “Don Giovanni,” “Bluebeard’s Castle,” “As One,” and “The Barber of Seville.” Following this release, other opera such as “The Magic Flute,” “Macbeth,” “Rigoletto,” “Die Walküre,” “Siegfried,” “Forsyth County is Flooding,” “Steele Roots,” and “Candide” will be uploaded.
In addition to the cinematic releases, The Atlanta Opera will also present livestreams of new productions, available free of charge. These titles include “La traviata” on Nov. 14, “The Marriage of Figaro” on March 20, 2026, “Turandot” on May 1, and “Götterdämmerung” on June 5.
Also available for free on the The Atlanta Opera Film Studio platform are video shorts that take audiences into the rehearsal hall for behind-the-scenes views, opera summaries, and interviews with key members of the cast and creative teams.
Film Studio Director Felipe Barral said in a press release, “In these films, we take audiences onstage for a visual journey that makes these films an intimate experience and offers a completely different perspective from what live theater audiences can see. They give opera lovers a chance to see the performers as fine actors in addition to great singers.”
