Asmik Grigorian, Yaritza Véliz, Mario Chang, Catherine Foster & Judit Kutasi Lead Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile’s 2026 Season

The Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile has announced its 2026 season.

Opera

Puccini’s “La bohème will star Yaritza Véliz, Angelina Akhmedova, Michael McDermott, Kameron Lopreore, Camila Romero, Pilar Garrido, Germán Alcántara, Yeongtaek Yang, Javier Weibel, Sergio Gallardo, Matías Moncada, Francisco Salgado, Pedro Alarcón, and Cristián Lorca. Paolo Bortolameolli conducts the production by Cristina Gallardo-Domâs.

Performance Dates: May 7-18, 2026


Giordano’s Andrea Chénier will star Antonio Gandía, Giorgi Sturua, Gihoon Kim, Giuseppe Altomare, Gloria Jieun Choi, and Yunuet Laguna.

Sergio Alapont conducts the production by Pier Francesco Maestrini.

Performance Dates: July 3-11, 2026


Yaritza Véliz, Isabela Díaz, Romeo Ben Reisinger and Leonardo Sánchez lead Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette.” The cast also includes Ramiro Maturana, Ismael Correa, Evelyn Ramírez, Pamela Zavala, Matías Moncada, Nicolás Noguchi, and David Rojas.

Evelino Pidò and Christian Lorca conduct the production by Alonso Torres.

Performance Dates: August 21-29, 2026


José Miguel Pérez-Sierra conducts Bizet’s Carmen in a production by Rodrigo Navarrete.

Adriana Bignagni Lesca, María Luisa Merinol, Mario Chang, Samuel White, Isabela Díaz, Paulina González, Eleomar Cuello and Semyon Antakov.

Performance Dates: Oct. 6-17, 2026


Paolo Bortolameolli conducts Strauss’ “Elektra” with Catherine Foster, Wendy Bryn Harmer, Judit Kutasi, Artyom Wasnetsov, and Matheus Pompeu.

Esteban Muñoz directs the production.

Recitals 

Asmik Grigorian performs alongside pianist Tommaso Lepore. The program includes music by Verdi, Puccini, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Scarlatti, and Dvorak.
