The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced its 2025-26 season.

Premieres 

Detlev Glanert ‘s “Die drei Rätsel” will be conducted by Dominic Limburg and directed by Brigitte Dethier. The production will star Martina Baroni, Philipp Jekal, Chance Jonas-O’Toole, Joel Allison, Padraic Rowan, Maria Vasilevskaya, and Alexandra Oomens.

Performance Dates: Oct. 11, 2025-Feb. 15, 2026


Sir Donald Runnicles will conduct a new production of Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde.” Clay Hilley, Georg Zeppenfeld, Elisabeth Teige, Thomas Lehman, Jörg Schörner, and Irene Roberts star. Micheal Thalheimer directs.

Performance Dates: Nov. 1-23, 2025


Jonathan Tetelamn and Vida Miknevičiūtė star in Giordano’s “Fedora” with Navasard Hakobyan, Michael Bachtadze, and Julia Muzychenk. Rodirgo Porras also stars. John Fiore conducts the production by Christof Loy.

Performance Dates: Nov. 27-Dec. 10, 2025


Korngold’s “Violanta” will be conducted by Sir Donald Runnicles and directed by David Hermann. The production will star Ólafur Sigurdarson, Laura Wilde, Mihails Culpajevs, Kangyoon Shine Lee, Lilit Davtyan, Stephanie Wake-Edwards, and Andrei Danilov.

Performance Dates: Jan. 25-Feb. 13, 2026


Rolando Villazón directs Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri” with Tommaso Barea, Artur Garbas, Benjamin Dickerson, Jonah Hoskins, Aigul Akhmetshina, and Misha Kiria. Alessandro de Marchi conducts.

Performance Dates: March 8-April 2, 2026


David McVicar will direct Handel’s “Giulio Cesare in Egitto.” Stefano Montanari conducts a cast that includes Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Elena Tsallagova, Clementine Margaine, Stephanie Wake-Edwards, Martina Baroni, Cameron Shahbize, Iwan Borodulin, Michael Sumuel, Eduardo Rojas Fáundez, and Jared Werlein.

Performance Dates: April 25-July 8, 2026


Lortzing’s “Zar und Zimmermann” will be conducted by Antonello Manacorda and directed by Martin G. Berger. The cast will include Artur Garbas, Philipp Kapeller, Patrick Zielke, Tobias Kehrer, Nadja Mchantaf, Joel Allison, Padraic Rowan, Kieran Carrel, and Stephanie Wake-Edwards.
