The Tiroler Festspiele has announced that Asher Fisch has been forced to withdraw from the winter season.

The company said, “Chef Conductor Asher Fisch must withdraw from his performances at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl in the 2025–26 winter season due to a shoulder injury. The team wishes him a swift recovery.The entire team wishes him all the best and a speedy recovery!”

As a result, the “festival managed to put all four projects that Asher Fisch would have directed musically into the hands of other experienced conductors.” Andreas Leisner will lead the family concert Applaus für die Gebrüder Strauß! while Sesto Quatrini conducts the staged production “Lucia di Lammermoor.” Beomseok Yi will conduct the New Year’s Concert with the original program and Daniele Rustioni will lead the final concert, also with the planned program.

The Winter season opens on Dec. 14 and runs through Jan. 1, 2025.
