
Arturo Chacón Cruz, Alfredo Daza & Ramón Vargas Lead Ópera de Bellas Artes’ 2026 Season

Opera
The season open with Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s “Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny,” in a production by Marcelo Lombardero. Srba Dinić conducts the opera.
Performance Dates: March 2026
Manuel de Fallas’ “La vida breve” and “El amor brujo” will be performed in a double bill in a production by Nuria Castejón, and conducted by Abdiel Vázquez.
Performance Dates: April 2026
Ramón Vargas sings the title role of Massenet’s “Werther“ with Rodrigo Sámano conducting. Juliana Vanscoit directs.
Performance Dates: May 2026
Puccini’s “Tosca“ will star Arturo Chacón Cruz, Alfredo Daza and María Fernanda Castillo. Stefan Lano conducts a production by Luis Miguel Lombana.
Performance Dates: October 2026
The season ends with Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana” and Luis Sandi’s “La señora en sul balcón.” Nicola Beller Carbone directs.

Concerts
The concert season opens with music by Benjamin Britten and Beethoven. Ludwig Carrasco conducts while Luis Manuel Sánchez leads the chorus.
