This week the Teartro di Parma opens its 2025 season with a production of “Giovanna d’Arco” one of Verdi’s rarely performed works. The production will showcase two famed Verdi singers and one debutante.

Mongolian baritone Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar will make his debut at the Teatro di Parma in the role of Giacomo. The production will mark his Italian debut.

Over the years Ganbaatar has appeared in such recognized venues as the Bolshoi Theatre, the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Ópera de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Carnegie Hall, Cadogan Hall, and Buckingham Palace. He has also performed a diverse repertoire that includes works by Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Puccini, and Bizet.  The baritone is a winner of the Song Prize award at the 2017 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

For those not in Italy for the debut, the baritone will also head to Ópera de Las Palmas, Fundació Menorquina de l’Òpera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Theater St. Gallen throughout the coming months.
