Arizona Opera Announces New Podcasts & Video Series for Reimagined 2020-21 Season

Arizona Opera  has announced a number of new programs and initiatives that will make up the company’ss reimagined 2020-21 season.

Running from November 20-22 will be the new Outdoor Opera Film Festival, which comes in collaboration with The Metropolitan Opera.  The festival will feature screenings of the Met’s “Live in HD” productions of “La Traviata,” “The Barber of Seville,” and an English version of “Hansel and Gretel.”

As the company continues its virtual education programs aimed at students K-12, Arizona Opera will launch three new podcast series, as well as a new video series titled “UnMic’d.” Company President and General Director Joseph Specter will explore the connections between opera and the world around it.

The company will also premiere another video series called “Loud! (Living Opera, Understanding Diversity.)” This series will strive towards meaningful communication between communities in Arizona and beyond.

The recently launched program, “Arizona Opera: Behind the Scenes!” is currently underway, hosted by the director of education and community engagement Cassie Robel. She is joined by Kathleen Trott, the Marlu Allan and Scott Stallard Costume Artisan Workshop Manager.
