Arena di Verona Breaks Records with 2024 Season

The Arena di Verona has announced that it has broken records following the 2024 season.

The company said that the 101 Arena di Verona Opera Festival closed after three months with 50 performances and an income of 33,620,000 euros. The figure was higher than last season when teh company celebrated its 100th anniversary.

The company also said that there were 417,354 spectators which was 15,000 more than the 2023 season.

The audience was made up of 57 percent international audience members from 136 countries including Barbados, Cambodia, Aruba, Germany, United States, South Korea, Canada, and Spain. There were 16 sold-out performances including four from “Turandot” which totaled 40,000 spectators.

Next season, the Arena di Verona opens with Verdi’s “Nabucco” in a new staging by Stefano Poda. There will also be a gala concert by Jonas Kaufmann and revivals of “Carmen,” “Aida,” “La Traviata,” and “Rigoletto.”
