The Arena di Verona has announced several cast changes for productions of “Rigoletto” and “Nabucco.”

The company revealed that Giulia Mazzola will replace Nina Minasyan as Gilda. The cancelation marks Minasyan’s fourth canceled performance. She is still scheduled to sing in the August 19 performance of “La Traviata.”

Mazzola will join a cast that includes Luca Salsi in the title role and Juan Diego Florez in the role of the Duke.

Meanwhile, Vasilisisa Berzhanskaya will replace Marina Viotti on August 3 and 17 as Fenena in Verdi’s “Nabucco.” Berzhanskaya already replaced Viotti on July 13 as Rosina in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” and sang her two previous performances.

Berzhanskaya will join a cast that includes Maria José Siri as Abigaille and Roman Burdenko and Luca Salsi in the title role of Nabucco.

Viotti is still scheduled for the last Rosina in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” on July 22.
