Aprile Millo To Direct ‘La Bohème’ For Opera Niagara

Aprile Millo is set to direct Puccini’s “La Bohème” at Opera Niagara.

The legendary soprano, who performed at the Metropolitan Opera, will lead a production with a young cast of rising stars including Maria Vetere, Lisa Di Maria, and Evelyne Larochelle sharing the title role. The cast will also see three Musettas including Lisa Di Maria, Emily Casey, and Lindsey Duggan. Joel Ricci will appear as Rodolfo with Alexander Leigh as Marcello, Mario Morales as Schaunard, Anthony Bellissimo as Colline, and Rodney Freake as Alcindoro/Benoit.

Performances will be music directed by Opera Niagara’s resident human orchestra conductor Maestro Adolfo De Santis.

Millo recently returned to the stage in a production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” in Brazil and made her London debut. She also performed in a recital for the New York City Opera.

Opera Niagara will present the opera on Nov. 15, 171 22, and 23, 2019 at the South Minster United Church.
