Anthony Roth Costanzo Headlines Death of Classical’s 2022 Season

Death of Classical has announced its 2022 season.

For the purposes of this article, the focus will be soley on operatic performances.

The company will present Sarah Kirkland Snider’s “Mass for the Endangered,” “a celebration of—and an elegy for—the natural world; a prayer for endangered species and the imperiled environments in which they live.” The work will feature the vocal ensemble Gallicantus and instrumentalists from the Decoda Ensemble.

Performance Dates: June 14-16, 2022

Famed countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo will team up with percussionist Sae Hashimoto to present Aaron Siegel’s “Watching Birds at the End of the World.”

Performance Dates: July 21, 2022

Daisy Press will present songs by Hildegard von Bingen from her album “You are the Flower.”

Performance Dates: Sept 7-9, 2022 

There will also be performances by the Attacca Quartet and Stewart Goodyear and Jed Distler.
