Ante Jerkunica Joins Cast of ‘Tannhäuser’ At Deutsche Oper Berlin in Cast Change

The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced a cast change for two performances of “Tannhaüser” on its official website.

Per the company, on May 1 and May 10, 2020, bass Ante Jerkunica will perform the role of Landgraf Hermann instead of Tobias Kehrer.

Jerkunica has been recently seen in the role of König Marke in Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the role of Timur in Puccini’s “Turandot” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the role of Sparafucile in “Rigoletto” at the Seattle Opera, and the role of The Grand Inquisitor in Verdi’s “Don Carlo” at the Oper Leipzig, among others.

Jerkunica will join the cast that includes Klaus Florian Vogt in the title role, Elisabet Strid, Markus Brück, Attilio Glaser, Noel Bouley, Gideon Poppe and Andrew Harris. Donald C. Runnicles will conduct the production by Kirsten Harms.
