Montreal’s Productions Opéra Concept MP will soon present the Toronto premiere of Julien Bilodeau’s “Another Brick in the Wall: The Opera.” Performances will be held at Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre) from Nov. 13 – 23, 2019.

The opera, described in the press release as a “lyrical exploration of alienation, abandonment, and isolation — as symbolized by a wall,” will celebrate the 40^th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s hit rock album “The Wall.”

The psychological drama, inspired by the life of Roger Waters, will feature eye-popping video projections and powerful vocal performances by more than a hundred Canadian artists, including Nathan Keoughan, France Bellemare, Caroline Bleau, and Jean-Michel Richer. Dominic Champagne directs, and Alain Trudel will lead the fifty-one piece orchestra.

“More than fifty-six percent of the audience at our world premiere in Montreal were first time opera-goers and forty-six percent of the audience at our US premiere in Cincinnati had never attended an opera before.
