Annette Dasch, Johannes Martin Kränzle & Barnaby Rea Lead ‘Die Lustige Witwe’ at Oper Frankfurt

The Oper Frankfurt has announced the upcoming run of Franz Lehár’s popular operetta “Die Lustige Witwe.”

Headlining the cast are Annette Dasch as the merry widow herself, Hanna Glawari, and Johannes Martin Kränzle as her contentious lover Count Danilo Danilowitsch. In other central roles are Barnaby Rea as Baron Mirko Zeta, and Florina Ilie as his wife Valencienne.

The cast will be rounded out by Michael Porter, Theo Lebow, Jonathan Abernethy, Pilgoo Kang, Ekin Su Paker, Dietrich Volle, Karolina Makuła, Franz Mayer, Margit Neubauer, Klaus Haderer, Ole Schwarz, Stefan Biaesch, Andreas Tilmann, and Vanessa Schwab.

Sebastian Weigle conducts a production by Claus Guth.

The run of “Die Lustige Witwe” at the Oper Frankfurt will begin on Dec. 11, 2021, and is set to last until Jan. 22, 2022.
