Sydney Eisteddfod has announced that Annette Brown has been named as its new General Manager, effective January 2022.

Brown will replace Piroozi Desai-Keane, who is the current CEO and set to retire at the end of the year. Currently, Brown is the Orchestra Manager for Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.

Desai-Keane, who has been with the company for 40 years, will remain with the company as an Artistic Advisor.

An independent, not-for-profit company, Sydney Eisteddfod seeks to nurture the Australian cultural community at a grassroots level. Their annual competitive performance festival, which runs from May to September, draws 35,000 entrants for over 300 events, providing performance opportunities for artists and companies in 17 venues throughout the Sydney Area.
