The Finzi Trust and Boosey & Hawkes are joining forces to launch a new international online vocal competition.

Those interested in competing will be given the opportunity to submit videos of music by Gerald Finzi for voice and piano starting on Oct. 5, 2020 with a closing date set for March 1, 2021.

The jury for the competition includes a wide range of international opera superstars including soprano Anne Schwanewilms, bass Eric Owens, and baritone Roderick Williams.

There will also be several major executives on the jury including Helen Williams, Executive Producer at Decca Classics; Michelle Williams, who is the Heading of Casting at the English National Opera; Ludlow English Song Weekend Artistic Director Iain Burnside; and Joseph Middleton, the Director of Leeds Lieder Festival.

The festival was created to celebrate the 120^th birthday year of composer Gerald Finzi, a British composer best known for his choral work.
