Iréne Theorin has canceled the April 4, 2019 performance of “La Gioconda” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The Liceu press office announced that due to indisposition Theorin would once again not sing the title role. As a result, Anna Pirozzi will replace the soprano in the performance, which is slated to be broadcast on radio. Due to the cast switch Saioa Hernández will replace Anna Pirozzi for the April 5 performance.

Theorin canceled opening night and is now slated to return to the production on April 7 in time for the live cinemas broadcast on April 10.

Pirozzi will once again perform with Brian Jagde, Dolora Zajick, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Gabriele Viviani, and María José Montiel. Meanwhile, Hernández will perform with Ketevan Kemoklidze, Carlo Colombara, Stefano La Colla, Luis Cansino, and Montiel.
