The Choregies d’Orange has announced that the gala with Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov has been canceled.

The gala, which was scheduled for  July 20, was to have been Netrebko’s debut in the French summer opera festival in Avignon. The soprano and tenor were scheduled to be joined by Christopher Maltman and Daniela Barcellona.

According to the press release, the festival announced that the concert was canceled for independent reasons.

Netrebko and Eyvazov recently performed at the Arena di Verona in a production of Verdi’s “Il Trovatore.” The soprano is set to perform recitals at the Baden Baden Festival and Bayerische Staatsoper. She is also set to return to the Salzburg Festival and make her house debut at the Bayreuth Festival.

Eyvazov performs at the Vail Festival in Puccini’s ‘Tosca” and joins Netrebko for “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Salzburg Festival.
