Anna Netrebko & Yusif Eyvazov to Debut at Teatro San Carlo in ‘Aida’ in 2021-22

The Teatro San Carlo di Napoli in Italy has announced that during the 2021-22 season Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov will make their house debuts in a production of Verdi’s “Aida.”

The announcement was made during a press conference for the theater’s outdoor “Tosca,” which opens on July 23 and stars Netrebko, Evyazov, and Ludovic Tezier.

Netrebko has performed the role of Aida at the Mariinsky Theatre, the Metropolitan Opera, and the Salzburg Festival. Meanwhile, Eyvazov has performed the role of Radames in productions at the Arena di Verona, Salzburg Festival, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

The couple is currently touring Italy this summer with performances in Rome, Verona, and Palermo. They will also perform at the Salzburg Festival and Grafenegg Festival. Netrebko and Eyvazov are also set to open the Gran Teatre del Liceu 2020-21 season.
