Anna Netrebko and Yusif Euvazov have postponed their concert at the Wiener Konzerthaus.

The concert’s organizer said, “DEAG Classics AG, in coordination with the artists and the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft, announces that the concert by Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov has been postponed to September 6, 2023, out of regard for the current situation.”

The concert was originally scheduled for July 2, 2022.

The news comes as Netrebko announced that she was withdrawing from upcoming performances and noted that “This is not a time for me to make music and perform. I have therefore decided to take a step back from performing for the time being. It is an extremely difficult decision for me, but I know that my audience will understand and respect this decision.”

Netrebko has repeatedly said she is opposed to the war, though in the past she has been a support of Vladimir Putin and his policies.
