Sarasota Opera has announced additional showcases as part of its “HD at the Opera House.”

The series allows audiences to watch past performances from major international organizations right in the Sarasota Opera theater. Audiences are required to wear face masks throughout and all seating will be socially distanced. All showcases start at 1:30 p.m.

The company will present Strauss’ “Arabella” from the Salzburg Festival in 2014. The showcase starred Renée Fleming, Thomas Hampson, and Hanna-Elisabeth Müller and was conducted by Christian Thielemann. Florentine Klepper directed the opera.

Performance Date: Nov. 22, 2020

The company will also present a performance of Verdi’s “Macbeth” from the Royal Opera House starring Željko Lučić, Anna Netrebko, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Yusif Eyvazov, Francesca Chiejina, Konu Kim, Simon Shibambu, and Jonathan Fisher. The opera was conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.

Finally, the company will present “The Nutcracker” in a performance from the Royal Opera House.
