Anna Netrebko has canceled her upcoming performance of “Eugene Onegin” at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.

The soprano, who tested negative for COVID-19, stated, “Dear Petersburgers! In connection with the latest events related to COVID-19 and the cancellation of the Bolshoi performance (thank God, all my tests are negative), but I am retiring for a week of self-isolation in order to be sure of my complete safety for others!”

The soprano was set to perform on Sept. 18 but has rescheduled her appearance for December.

Netrebko recently performed in a production of “Don Carlo” at the Bolshoi Theatre alongside Ildar Abdrazakov, who tested positive for the virus. As a result, the final performance of the three-performance run was canceled.

Netrebko is set to grace the stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu on Oct. 1 and 4 for performances of “Il Trovatore.”

Russia currently has 1,051,874 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 18,365 confirmed deaths.
