Anna Netrebko, Michael Fabiano & Irina Lungu Lead Royal Opera House’s Streams in January 2022

The Royal Opera House Covent Garden has announced five new streams to kick off the new year. For the purposes of this article, we will focus on vocal performances.

The opera house will first stream Sir David McVicar’s production of Gounod’s “Faust” from 2019. The opera stars Erwin Schrott as the devil Méphistophélès, Irina Lungu as Marguerite, and Michael Fabiano in the title role. The opera will be available on-demand from Jan. 14 – Feb. 14, 2022.

On Jan. 20 2022, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden will livestream Daniele Abbado’s production of Verdi’s “Nabucco.” The star-studded cast includes Anna Netrebko as Abigaille, Alexander Vinogradov as Zaccaria, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya in the role of Fenena, Najmiddin Mavlyanov as Ismaele, Blaise Malaba as the High Priest of Baal, April Koyejo-Audiger as Anna, Andrés Presno as Abdallo, and Amartuvshin Enkhbat in the title role.
