Anna Netrebko, Javier Camarena, Joseph Calleja Headline Opera Naples 2021-22 Season

Opera Naples in Florida has announced its 2021-22 season which will feature some of the biggest stars from around the opera world.

First up will be a production of “Hansel and Gretel” at the Wang Opera Center.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16 & 17, 2021

Next up is a performance by soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov at Arthrex One.

Performance Dates: Jan. 7, 2022

“The Pirates of Penzance” will be presented at the Wang Opera Center.

Performance Dates: Jan. 20 & 21, 2022 

Joseph Calleja will continue his relationship with Opera Naples by performing in a gala at Arthrex One.

“Joseph is truly one of the best tenors in the world. Having him attend last season’s Gala as our featured artist left a lasting impression that clearly resonated with our patrons and donors,” said Executive Director Sondra Quinn in a press release. “His performance was so mesmerizing that we ventured to bring him back.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 9, 2022

II Festival Under the Stars 

The company will continue its Festival Under the Stars which will include a production of “Tosca” starring Ramón Vargas.

Performance Dates: TBA 

The company will also feature Tom Cipullo’s “Glory Denied.”

Performance Dates: TBA

Another work that will be presented is Bernstein’s “On the Town.”

Performance Dates: TBA

The festival will also include a concert starring Javier Camarena.
