Anna Netrebko and Valery Gergiev’s Summer Night Concert To Be Broadcast

Anna Netrebko and Valery Gergiev will reunite for the SommernachsKonzert 2018.

Gergiev will conduct the Vienna Philharmonic with Netrebko performing arias from Cilea, Puccini, and Leoncavallo. The program will also include music by Mascagni, Verdi, and Rossini. The concert will be broadcast on Orf 2 in a time delayed relay and is scheduled for release on Sony Classical. The concert will be performed in front of the Schoenbrunn Palace.

Anna Netrebko and Valery Gergiev have enjoyed a distinguished partnership for years. Together they have performed such operas as “Adriana Lecouvreur,” “Lohengrin,” “Eugene Onegin,” Il Trovatore,” and “Ruslan and Lyudmila.” They also did a historical performance of “War and Peace” at the Metropolitan Opera when Netrebko debuted with the company. They next collaborate for the World Cup concert, as well as a new production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Baden-Baden Festival. Next season they will collaborate in a Verdi gala in Vienna.
