Anna Netrebko & Jonas Kaufmann to Open Teatro alla Scala’s 2024-25 Season

The Teatro alla Scala has previewed its 2024-25 season.

According to il giorno, the opening night production on Dec. 7, will be Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino” with Anna Netrebko and Jonas Kaufmann. The cast will also include Ludovic Tezier and Leo Muscato will direct the production. Riccardo Chailly will conduct.

The company will also showcase “Norma” for the first time in 48 years with Marina Rebeka in the title role and Fabio Luisi conducting. Olivier Py will direct the new production.

The company will also present “Falstaff” in Strehler’s production with Daniele Gatti conducting and “Eugene Onegin” in a production with Mario Martone.

Christian Thielemann will conduct David McVicar’s new productions of “Die Walkure” and “Siegfried.”

The season will also include “Il nome della rosa” with Damiano Michieletto directing Francesco Filidei’s new opera. Finally, the season will close with “La Fille du règiment” in Laurent Pelly’s legendary production and “Così fan tutte” in a production by Robert Carsen.
