
Anna Lapwood, Joanna Forbes L’Estrange Among Royal School of Church Music 2025 Honorees
By David SalazarThe Royal School of Church Music has announced the recipients of its 2025 Honorary Awards.
This year’s fellows, who are awarded for achievement sin church music and / or liturgy of internationally recognized significance or for exceptional musical and/or liturgical work within the RSCM that has had an impact at a national level, include Gordon Giles, Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, Timothy Hughs, Anna Lapwood, Andrew Padmore, and Thomas Hewitt Jones.
As for those being honored as Associates of the Royal School of Church Music, including John Crothers, Mark Dancer, Kevin Duggan, Edward Moroney, David Newsholme, and Gregg Redner. This award goes to those for their achievements in church music and / or liturgy of nationally recognized significance, or for important musical and/or liturgical work within the RSCM that has had an impact across several Area Teams.
Matthew Wright was recognized as an Honorary Member for his exceptional or very significant work that is not primarily musical or liturgical and that has contributed to the cause of church music and/or liturgy at international or national levels.
Finally, the Nicholson Award, given to those who have achieved significant administrative work as a voluntary officer or member of staff within the RSCM; or awarded for a significant contribution to church music and/or liturgy at a local RSCM Area level, was awarded to Colin Davey, David Hanford, John Hendry, Clare Hitchcock, Roderick Isaaces, William Leigh Knight, and Caroline Lenton-Ward.
