Anna Handler Named Conductor-in-Residence of LA Philharmonic

Anna Handler has been appointed the LA Philharmonic’s Conductor-in-Residence.

She will serve for a three-year term starting in the 2026-27 season.

Handler will join the LA Phil’s Artistic leadership and will conduct performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, curate and perform in chamber concerts, and participate in a yearly project with YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles).

Handler is a 2023-24 Dudamel Fellow who has also conducted the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, and Frankfurt Radio Symphony.

In a statement, Kim Noltemy, President and CEO of the LA Phil said, “Anna is such a talent on the podium, and her artistry and musical ideas have cultivated a deep connection with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, galvanizing the musicians and supporting the orchestra’s continued artistic evolution.”
