The 51st Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca has announced its 2025 season with the theme “Guerre e pace.” The festival will be held between July 18 and August 3, 2025.

Here is a look at the opera highlights:

Operas

Rossini’s “Tancredi” will be presened with Sesto Quatrini conducitng the Orchestra dell’Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. The opera will star Anna Goryachova, Francesca Pia Vitale, Dave Monaco, and Adolfo Corrado. Andrea Bernard will direct.

Performance Dates: July 18-August 2, 2025

Daniel Cohen conducts Britten’s “Owen Wingrave” with the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. The opera will star Aeneas Humm, Gwilym Bowen, Charlotte-Anne Shipley, and Sharon Carty. Andrea De Rosa directs.

Ravel’s “L’enfant et les sortilèges” will be conducted by Maestro Myriam Farina with a cast featuring voci dell’Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti.” Myriam Farina directs.

Performance Date: July 24, 2025

The festival will present “La guerra ha volto di donna” with reflections by Bianca Sorrentino featuring artists from Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti.” The evening will include music by Fauré, Strauss, Gluck, Manfroce, and Marzocchi.

“L’altro Tancredi” will feature music by Rossini and singers and pianists from Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti.”

Luca Della Libera – The Roman Sacred Music will feature the participation of artists from the Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” and Ensemble Enea Barock Orchestra in music by Scarlatti and other baroque artists.

Performance Date: July 30, 2025

“Combattuti miei pensieri” will feature reflections by Luca Della Libera and artists from the Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti.” The Ensemble Enea Barock Orchestra will also be featured in music by Scarlatti.

Fabio Luisi conducts Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 14 with Lidia Fridman and Adolfo Corrado.

Performance Date: August 1, 2025

L’altro Britten will feature Alessandro Macchia in music by Britten and artists from the Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti.
