Anna Caterina Antonacci & Rebeka Lokar Headline Teatro Grande di Brescia’s 2021 Fall Season

The Teatro Grande di Brescia, Italy has announced its fall 2021 season featuring four operatic productions.

The season opens with Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” starring Rebeka Lokar as Minnie, Angelo Villari as Dick Johnson, and Devid Cecconi as Jack Rance. Valerio Galli conducts the Andrea Cigni production which also stars Andrea Concetti, Didier Pieri, Valdis Jansons, Marco Miglietta, Federico Cavarzan, Ramiro Maturana, Antonio Mandrillo, Giuseppe Raimondo, Matteo Loi, Maurizio Lo Piccolo, Gaetano Triscari, Candida Guida, Alessio Verna, Marco Tomasoni, and Alessandro Mundula.

Performance Dates: Sept. 22-26, 2021

Opera Domani will bring “Rigoletto” for children. The adaptation will be conducted by Cesare Della Sciucca and directed by Manuel Renga.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9 & 10, 2021

Gianni Luca Giuga sings the title role in Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia” alongside Chiara Tirotta, Matteo Roma, Diego Savini, and Alberto Comes. Jacopo Rivani conducts the production by Ivan Stefanutti.

Performance Dates: Oct. 15 & 17, 2021

Emma Dante directs a new production of Gluck’s “Iphigénie en Tauride” and will star Anna Caterina Antonacci, Bruno Taddia, Mert Süngü, Michele Patti, and Marta Leung. Federico Ferri conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 5 & 7, 2021

Leon Kim, Marigona Qerkezi, Alessandra Volpe, Matteo Falcier, and Alexey Birkus star in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” directed by Roberto Catalano and conducted by Jacopo Brusa.

Performance Dates: Dec. 10 & 12, 2021

The opera season is also dedicated to the little ones. The three performances for the families of the production will take place on Oct. 9 at 3.30pm and 8.00pm and Oct. 10 at 11.00am.
