Anna Caterina Antonacci, Francesco Meli & Giuliana Gianfaldoni Highlight Teatro Grande di Brescia’s 2020 Fall Season

The Teatro Grande di Brescia in Northern Italy has announced its 2020 fall season.

The season opens with Handel’s “Messiah” in Mozart’s famed revision with Marigona Qerkezi, Chiara Tirotta, Didier Pieri, and Andrea Patucelli. Massimo Fiocchi Malaspina conducts. 

Performance Date: Sept. 29, 2020

The season will continue with #2021DESTINAZIONETAURIDE featuring music by Gluck with Anna Caterina Antonacci, Mert Süngü, and Bruno Taddia. The evening will feature music from “Iphigenie en Aulide” and “Iphigenie en Tauride”

Performance Date: Oct. 23, 2020

Annalisa Stroppa takes on the title role in Bizet’s “Carmen” with Francesco Meli and Serena Gamberoni. Alessandro Trebeschi performs at the piano. The concert will feature selections from the famed work.

Performance Date: Oct. 31, 2020

Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” is set to be performed in a highlights format with Rebeka Lokar, Angelo Villari, and Devid Cecconi. Valerio Galli performs at the piano.

Performance Date: Nov. 26, 2020

Valerio Borgioni and Gillen Munguía sing the title role of Massenet’s “Werther” with Karina Demurova and Mariangela Marini alternating as Charlotte. The production will also include Maria Rita Combattelli with Francesco Pasqualetti conducting.

Performance Dates: Nov. 6 & 8, 2020

Mozart’s “Zaide” is set to star Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Giovanni Sala, Vincenzo Nizzardo, Paul Nilon, Pierpaolo Martella, and Lella Costa with Alessandro Palumbo conducting Graham Vick’s production.

Performance Dates: Dec. 10 & 12, 2020
