Anna Brull, Attilio Glaser, Gaston Rivero, Marjukka Tepponen & Michaela Schuster Lead Oper Graz’s 2026-27 Season

Oper Graz has announced its 2026-27 season.

Opera

Berlioz’s “La Damnation de Faust” is set to star Anna Brull, Pavel Petrov, and Nikita Ivasechko. The new production will be conducted by Johannes Braun and Stefan Birnhuber and directed by Lorenzo Fioroni. 

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Dec. 13, 2026


Tom Schimon, Michael Heller, Jianwei Liu, Leah Bedenko, Anna Brull, Sieglinde Feldhofer, and Michael Großschädl star in KurtWeill’s “Tom Sawyer” with Stefan Birnhuber and Ulises Maino conducting the production by Tobias Ribitzki.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3-Nov. 27, 2026


Leoncavallo’s “La Bohème” will be performed in concert with Sieglinde Feldhofer, Petr Sokolov, Anna Brull, Gaston Rivero, Ivan Oreščanin, Daeho Kim, Wilfried Zelinka, and Aleš Jenis.

Performance Dates: Oct. 22 & Nov. 4, 2026


Puccini’s “La Bohème” will star Corina Koller, Ekaterina Solunya, Pavel Petrov, Nikita Ivasechko, Ivan Oreščanin, and Daeho Kim. The new production will be directed by Tobias Ribitzki. Vassilis Christopoulos and Johannes Braun conduct.

Performance Dates: Nov. 28, 2026-Feb. 24, 2027


Iiro Rantala’s “Perfect Match” will star Sieglinde Feldhofer, Peter Bording,  Judith Jandl,  Santiago Bürgi, Lucius Wolter, Markus Butter, Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, Verena Scheitz, Lilly Kugler-König, and Dominika Blažek. Johannes Braun and Stefan Birnhuber conduct the production by Matthias Davids. 

Performance Dates: Dec. 19, 2026-March 10, 2027


Dvořák’s Rusalka” will star Otar Jorjikia, Katrin Wundsam, Dshamilja Kaiser, Nadja Mchantaf,  Daeho Kim, and Martina Mikelić.  Francesco Angelico and Ulises Maino conduct the production by Vasily Barkhatov.

Performance Dates: Jan. 23-April 2, 2027


Ralph Benatzky’sIm Weißen Rössl” will star Corina Koller, Ivan Oreščanin, Jogi Kaiser, Sieglinde Feldhofer, Felix Heuser, Ricardo Frenzel Baudisch, Martin Fournier, Nina Weiß, János Mischuretz, Nicolas Köhler, and Ildikó Raimondi. Marius Burkert and Stefan Birnhuber conducts the production by Dirk Schmeding.

Performance Dates: March 6-May 23, 2027


Olga Neuwirth’s “Monster’s Paradise” will be directed by Tobias Kratzer and will star Lisa-Marie Lebitschnig, Leah Bedenko, and  Markus Butter. Johannes Kalitzke conducts.

Performance Dates: April 3-30, 2027


Strauss’ “Elektra” will be directed by Elena Artisi and will star Aile Asszony, Michaela Schuster, Marjukka Tepponen, Jörg Schneider, and Aris Argiris. Vassilis Christopoulos and Johannes Braun conduct. 

Performance Dates: May 22-June 23, 2027


The season closes with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” featuring Corina Koller, Sofia Vinnik, Nikita Ivasechko, Ted Black, Ekaterina Solunya, and Wilfried Zelinka. Marius Burkert conducts.

Performance Dates: June 6-24, 2027


Concerts 

Giedrė Šlekytė conducts Schubert and Mahler with soloists Dshamilja Kaiser and  Attilio Glaser. 

Performance Date: Sept. 13, 2026


Sieglinde Feldhofer and Sofia Vinnik lead the Advent concert.

Performance Dates: Dec. 5 & 6, 2026


Vassilis Christopoulos conducts the New Year’s concert featuring Anna Brull.

Performance Date: Jan. 1, 2027


Vassilis Christopoulos conducts Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 with Marjukka Tepponen,  Neira Muhić, Jörg Schneider, and  Wilfried Zelinka.

Performance Date: April 22, 2027


Kammermusik

Michaela Gaczyńska leads a program of Schubert and Respighi with Chien-Ching Kuo, Remigiusz Gaczyński,  Milan Maksimovic, Sigrid Narowetz, and Ivanila Lultcheva. 

Performance Date: Oct. 5, 2026


Nikita Ivasechko leads a program Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Rachmanioff with instrumentalist Zhanna Ivanova and Tetiana Dranchuk.

Performance Date: May 24, 2027
