Anja Harteros has canceled tomorrow’s performance at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

The company announced that Harteros will not sing the role of Elsa in “Lohengrin” on Nov. 24 and will be replaced by Johanni van Oostrum.

Van Oostrum has performed at the Bayerische Staatsoper since 1996 and has performed at the Dutch National Opera, Theater an der Wien, Komische Oper Berlin, Garsington Opera, Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg, and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. This season she performs in productions of “Fidelio” in Cape Town, “Peter Grimes” and “Elektra” in Wiesbaden.

Van Oostrum joins a cast that includes Klaus Florian Vogt, Karita Mattila, Wolfgang Koch, and Martin Gantner. Lothar Koenigs conducts the production by Richard Jones.

Harteros returns to the production on Nov. 30 for the final performance of the run.
