Mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili will give a recital at Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía on Jan. 17, 2021. Rachvelishvili will be accompanied by pianist Vincenzo Scalera.

The program will include works by Otar Taktakishvili, Piotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff, Francesco Tosti, and Manuel de Falla.

Rachvelishvili recently performed the role of Amneris in concert performances of Verdi’s “Aida” at Teatro di San Carlo and Teatro alla Scala, the title role in Bizet’s “Carmen” at the Staatsoper unter der Linden, and the role of Eboli in Verdi’s “Don Carlos” at Opéra National de Paris.

The mezzo-soprano is scheduled to return to the stage in the title role in Bizet’s opera “Carmen” at the Wiener Staatsoper in February 2021.
