Anita Rachvelishvili Cancels Teatro Real Recital

Anita Rachvelishvili has canceled her May 16 recital at the Teatro Real de Madrid.

The mezzo released a statement on social media stating, “My dearest Friends! I am sad to announce that I had to cancel Teatro Real Madrid Recital with maestro Vincenzo Scalera for family reasons and the date will be rescheduled. We will announce a new date as soon as possible! Since I received so many messages from you my dearests asking me if I was ok, I want to thank you all and tell you that I am totally ok and feeling wonderful! Will be back soon for ‘Don Carlos’ in Deutsche Oper Berlin and for ‘Aida’ in Arena di Verona right after that! Love u all. And thank you so much!”

Rachvelishvili’s recital was set to include music by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Falla, Tosti, Verdi, Gounod, and Saint-Saëns. Rachvelishvili recently performed a new production of “Carmen” at the Wiener Staatsoper and recorded her second solo album for Sony Classical.
