Angels Vocal Art To Present Puccini’s ‘Il Trittico’

By David Salazar

Angels Vocal Art will present Puccini’s “Il Trittico” across several evenings in July.

The company will kick things off with “Gianni Schicchi” on July 5 and 6. The opera will be paired with scenes from other operas by Mozart and other modern-day composers.

On July 26 and 27, the company will showcase “Il Tabarro” and “Suor Angelica.”

All three operas will feature cast members that are part of the Emerging and Professional and Studio Artist Programs from the 2019 Angels Vocal Art Opera Intensive. The works will be staged by director Mark Lamanna and conducted by Angels Vocal Arts Artistic Director Kristof Van Grysperre.

“Angels Vocal Art is committed to nurturing emerging young talent and giving them the opportunity to perform in fully staged opera productions with a professional orchestra. We strive to promote the art form among the general public, and to broaden the definition of opera by staging modern productions of the finest quality,” Van Grysperre stated in a press release.
