Ángeles Blancas, Mónica Conesa, Ruth Iniesta, Berna Perles & David Oller Lead Teatro de la Zarzuela’s 2025-26 Season

The Teatro de la Zarzuela has announced its 2025-26 season.

Ángeles Blancas, Lana Kos, and Carmen Romeu lead Albéniz’s “Pepita Jiménez” alongside a cast that includes Leonardo Caimi, Antoni Lliteres, Ana Ibarra, Cristina Faus, Rodrigo Esteves, Rubén Amoretti, Pablo López, and Josep Fadó. Guillermo García Calvo conducts the production by Giancarlo Del Monaco.

Performance Dates: Oct. 1-19, 2025


Emilio Arrieta’s “El Potosí Submarino” will star Manel Esteve, Enric Martínez-Castignani, Carolina Moncada, Nuria García Arrés, Alejandro del Cerro, Enrique Ferrer, María Rey-Joly, Irene Palazón, Mercedes Gancedo, Laura Brasó, Juan Sancho, José Luis Sola, and Rafa Castejón. Iván López Reynoso condcuts the production by Rafael R. Villalobos.

Performance Dates: Nov. 19-30, 2025


Granados’ “Goyescas” and Manuel de Falla’s “El retablo de Maese Pedro” will showcase Raquel Lojendio, Mónica Conesa, Alejandro Roy, Enrique Ferrer, César San Martín, Mónica Redondo, Gerardo Bullón, Pablo García-López, and Lidia Vinyes-Curtis. Álvaro Albiach conducts the production by Francisco López.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24-Feb. 1, 2026


Amadeo Vives’ “Bohemios” will be conducted by Julio César Picos and directed by Nicola Beller Carbone.

Performance Dates: Feb. 20-March 1, 2026


Francisco Asenjo Barbieri’s “Jugar con fuego” will star Ruth Iniesta, Berna Perles, Alejandro del Cerro, Antonio Gandía, José Antonio López, Luis Cansino, David Lagares, Javier Castañeda, Manuel de Diego, Emmanuel Faraldo, and Javier Povedano. José Miguel Pérez-Sierra and Lara Diloy conduct the production by Marina Bollaín.

Performance Dates: March 25-April 12, 2026


Manuel García’s “El gitano por amor” will be conducted by Carlos Aragón and directed by Emilio Sagi. Juan Antonio Sanabria, Juan de Dios Mateos, Sabina Puértolas, Suzana Nadejde, María José Moreno, Rocío Faus, Javier Povedano, Begoña Gómez, José Ángel Florido, and Pietro Spagnoli.

Performance Dates: April 22-26, 2026


José Miguel Pérez-Sierra and Rafael Sánchez-Araña conduct Penella’s “El Gato Montes” in Christof Loy’s production. David Oller, Borja Quiza, Mané Galoyan, Miren Urbieta-Vega, Rodrigo Porras, Raúl Gutiérrez, María Rodríguez, Milagros Martín, Carol García, María Luisa Corbacho, Manel Esteve, Gerardo Bullón, Cielo Ferrández, and Pablo Gálvez star.

Performance Dates: June 10-28, 2026


Miquel Ortega conducts Barbieri’s “El Vizconde” in a production by Alfonso Romero. Irene Palazón, César San Martín, Juan Antonio Sanabria, and Blanca Valido star.
