The Belcanto Festival Rossini in Wildbad has announced its 2022 slate, with two out of three operas taking place in the Trinkhalle.

The festival will begin with a concert performance of “Armida” starring Angela Meade and Michele Angelini, with five more tenor roles. José Miguel Pérez Sierra will conduct.

“Ermione” will be presented in a staged version with Antonino Fogliani conducting. Fogliani will also lead the “Stabat Mater” which will be performed in honor of the victims of COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, “Adina” will be performed at the Königliches Kurtheater and will be conducted by Luciano Acocella. These three operas will complete the Naxos Edition of Rossini’s works.

The Belcanto Festival Rossini in Wildbad is set to begin on July 15 and will run through July 24, 2022 with casts to be announced at a later date.
