The Opéra de Marseille has announced its 2023-24 season.

Opera

Meyerbeer’s “L’Africaine” will star Hélène Carpentier, Laurence Janot, Florian Laconi, Jérôme Bouteiller, and Karine Deshayes. Roberto Rizzi Brignoli conducts the production by Charles Roubaud.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3-10, 2023

Paolo Arrivabeni conducts Verdi’s “Attila” with Angela Meade, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Juan Jesús Rodriguez, and Antonio Poli.

Performance Dates: Oct. 29-Nov. 4, 2023

Roland Hayrabedian conducts “Autodafé.”

Performance Date: Nov. 25, 2023

Lehar’s “La Veuve joyeuse” will star Anne-Catherine Gillet, Perrine Madoeuf, Perrine Cabassud, Simone Burles, Régis Mengus, Marc Barrard, and Léo Vermont-Desroches. Lawrence Foster conducts the production by Jean-Louis Pichon.

Performance Date: Dec. 29, 2023-Jan. 7, 2024

Ruth Iniesta, Julien Dran, and Jérôme Boutillier star in Verdi’s “La Traviata.” Clelia Cafiero conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 6-15, 2024

Massenet’s “Don Quichotte” will be conducted by Gaspard Brecourt and directed by Louis Desire. Héloïse Mas, Laurence Janot, Marie Kalinine, Nicolas Courjal, Marc Barrard, Camille Tresmontant and Frédéric Cornille star.

Performance Dates: March 19-24 2024

Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” will star Patrizia Ciofi, Hélène Carpentier, Eléonore Pancrazi, Jean-Sébastien Bou, and Robert Gleadow. Michele Spotti conducts the production by Vincent Boussard.

Performance Dates: April 24-May 3, 2024

Verdi’s “Un Ballo in maschera” will star Marta Torbitoni, Sheva Tehoval, Enkelejda Shkoza, Enea Scala, and Gezim Myshketa. Paolo Arrivabeni conducts the production by Waut Koeken.
